The Graduate Teacher Programme offers you the unique opportunity to earn a salary as you train to teach.
In this dynamic and fast-developing programme, you will join the staff of a school from September to June, giving you the opportunity to gain extensive classroom and school based experience. Your practical experience in school will be supported by a lively and interactive training day each week led by top practitioners and trainers at one of our local training schools where you will engage with a range of professional and subject-specific topics. Following last year's visit, Ofsted inspectors reported that GTP Trainees 'make good progress and achieve high outcomes' and that our mentors' support is 'very strong in both phases'.

Qualifications
The GT Programme not only leads to Qualified Teacher Status but also provides the opportunity for you to gain M level credits as teaching moves towards becoming an all Masters profession.
Employment
A very high percentage of trainees gain employment immediately after training, with the vast majority going on to teach within the two counties and a significant number being appointed to their placement schools.
Partner Schools
The GTP has over 100 partner schools across the two counties, enabling us to place you in a school within a reasonable distance of your home address. All school based mentors in partner schools receive GTP training annually to keep them up to date with the programme and with their mentoring skills.
Support
You will be working with and learning from experienced teachers, moving from observation in the early days of training towards taking on your own classes once you are ready to teach. High quality support for your training is provided by a range of school-based and external mentors. The GTP team also offers strong support in enabling you to develop into a qualified and confident new teacher.
