Suffolk and Norfolk Initial Teacher Training

High quality teacher training in local schools

Application Process

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY PLACES AVAILABLE FOR SEPTEMBER 2012.

The TDA now requires all applications to GTP providers to be submitted electronically through a central applications portal. If, after reading and considering the information about the GT Programme in Suffolk and Norfolk, you wish to apply, please read the following information carefully before clicking on the link to transfer to the GTP applications portal.  The link will take you directly to the Suffolk and Norfolk page.  Do not be misled by the table indicating places available which applies to the current year only and not to the year for which you are applying (2012-13)

Please note that the Suffolk and Norfolk GTP is unable to take your application electronically.
Once you have completed and submitted your on-line application, you must print off a copy of your application and post it, together with your personal statement, a passport photograph, copies of your Degree and GCSE (or equivalent) Certificates and a cheque for £22.00 payable to Suffolk County Council, to:

Suffolk and Norfolk Graduate Teacher Programme
Norwich Professional Development Centre
Woodside Road
Norwich
Norfolk
NR7 9QL

Applicants are invited to attach a letter of support either from their headteacher or from their line manager if they are not currently working in a school.
As soon as we have processed your application (this is normally within 10 working days) we will forward an email acknowledging receipt to the address given. Please only contact the GTP office if you have not received an acknowledgement within 20 working days of posting.

It is not necessary to find a placement or supporting school in order to apply to the Suffolk and Norfolk GTP as we undertake to find placement schools for all successful applicants. Please take this opportunity to read our School Placement Policy.
However, applicants should have completed a minimum of two weeks in a school before starting the course, and preferably before applying.

Please note:

Please ensure that applications have the correct postage affixed. SNITT does not pay the surcharge for mail with insufficient postage so applications incorrectly stamped will not be received by SNITT. Also please take a moment to read our School Placement policy.
